The District will begin a project to remove certain trees along New Territory Boulevard near the intersection of Chatham Avenue moving East towards the Bridge on March 3, 2022. The area impacted is shown on the map below.
The District intends to remove approximately 42 trees in this area, which will create more spacing between the tree trunks. The purpose of removing the trees is to allow more sunlight to promote and maintain growth of grass and landscaping. The shade from the existing tree canopies has inhibited vegetation growth. The proposed spacing will be consistent with tree spacing in other areas of the community.
The project is expected to be completed in two weeks.
