Update Regarding Soil Stability and Back Slope Drainage Swales

In response to several residents’ questions regarding the soil stability and back slope drainage swales located behind residential fence lines along District property, the Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 17 has authorized the District’s engineer to evaluate and propose options for improvement of drainage and potential rebuilding of soil stability along the District’s West Levee sections, specifically in the areas behind homes along Trillium Drive, Traynor Lane, Coggins Point Way, Ancrum Hill Lane, Ravenel Lane, Keelson Way, Kenilworth Drive, Black Oak Drive, and Genesta Path. The Board expects that the District Engineer will develop and present several options for long-term drainage enhancement and prevention of soil-related issues for the Board’s consideration. These efforts are part of the District’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the integrity and functionality of District property and ensuring long-term stability in these areas.

Please be advised that the District does not own the residential fences or the property on which they are constructed. The maintenance, repair, or replacement of any private fences therefore remains the responsibility of individual homeowners.

As progress continues, the District will post additional information on the website to keep residents informed.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to investigate and address the issues brought to our attention in an effective and responsible manner.
